What you will build

As a backend software engineer, you will work on a specific project critical to SAP Commerce and Consumer Industries’ needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve. We need our engineers to be versatile, display leadership qualities and be enthusiastic to take on new problems across the full-stack as we continue to push technology forward.

Core Responsibilities

• Work on proof-of-concept and prototyping efforts.
• Develop backend frameworks and applications targeting on security, simplicity, reliability, scalability, performance and re-use.
• Work on topics related to cloud qualities including performance, scalability, and accessibility.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve software with a focus on full-stack or backend technologies.
• Build a highly scalable and reliable, state-of-the-art web application to handle critical functions for hundreds of thousands of users. 

 

What you bring 

• BS degree in Computer Science, or related technical field. (ongoing)
• Knowledge of building highly scalable and reliable web applications with high standards for security leveraging state-of-the-art technology stacks and tooling.
• Sense for quality assurance and experience designing and implementing functional tests as part of the development process.
• Knowledge of modern backend technology stacks based on Spring Framework (Spring MVC, Spring data, Spring security, Spring boot, Spring cloud) and JPA/Hibernate/EclipseLink.
• Knowledge and hands-on project experience in data stores like MySQL/Mariadb, PostgreSQL, Redis, MongoDB, etc.
• Familiarity with containerized applications and container orchestration like Kubernetes.
• Strong sense of design and commitment to the fundamentals of UX-Design.
