Position Summary 

The Senior Graphic Designer plays a key role in shaping and maintaining the visual identity of Deaconess Health System across all platforms. This position leads the design and execution of strategic, high-impact creative solutions that support organizational goals, enhance patient engagement, and elevate brand consistency. 

As a member of the Creative Services team, this individual brings advanced design expertise, creative leadership, and a strong understanding of healthcare communications to guide projects from concept through completion. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

• Lead the design and development of creative assets across print, digital, environmental, and multimedia platforms  

• Translate complex healthcare concepts into clear, engaging, and visually compelling materials  

• Maintain and evolve brand standards to ensure consistency across all departments and touchpoints  

• Collaborate with marketing strategists, service line leaders, and internal stakeholders to deliver effective creative solutions  

• Serve as a creative lead on major campaigns, initiatives, and system-wide communications  

• Mentor and provide guidance to junior designers and team members  

• Review and provide constructive feedback on design work to ensure quality and alignment with brand standards  

• Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment  

• Stay current with design trends, tools, and best practices, particularly in healthcare marketing  

 

Qualifications 

• Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or related field  

• 5–8+ years of professional design experience  

• Strong portfolio demonstrating a range of design work, including campaign development and brand application  

• Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop); familiarity with digital tools and platforms  

• Strong understanding of typography, layout, color theory, and visual hierarchy  

• Experience designing for both print and digital environments  

• Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills  

• Ability to think strategically while executing at a high creative level  

Preferred Qualifications 

• Experience in healthcare, hospital, or regulated industry marketing  

• Familiarity with accessibility standards (ADA compliance, inclusive design)  

• Experience with video, motion graphics, or web design (UX/UI)  

• Knowledge of content management systems and digital marketing platforms
