the challenge
As a Junior Data Engineer, you’ll join our product ETL squads within the central Data Engineering team. Your focus is fully on execution and learning the craft in practice. You will:
- Build and maintain ETL pipelines that support business-critical data flows
- Ingest new data sources and transform data to meet business requirements
- Monitor, maintain and improve data quality
- Fix bugs and maintain existing pipelines
- Work ticket-based from the team backlog
- Collaborate with a Product Owner and experienced data engineers to understand requirements and context
- Gradually take ownership of tasks and deliver independently, with support when needed
This role is 100% focused on ETL work. Platform engineering and architectural decision-making are not part of this role in the first years — your growth starts with mastering the fundamentals.

Soft skills
- Curiosity and eagerness to learn
- A proactive mindset and willingness to take ownership
- The ambition to grow into a more senior role over time
- Confidence to work independently after onboarding, whilst asking for help when needed
Hard skills
- 1–2 years of experience with data engineering or ETL concepts (including internships, traineeships or graduate roles)
- Exposure to working in a data engineering environment within an (large) organization
- Basic experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or Google CLoud Platform)
- Familiarity with ETL pipelines and data processing concepts
- Experience with Databricks is a strong plus
