About the Role
As a Software Engineer in the Reporting, Statistics and Automation (RSA) team, you will play a key role in designing and developing software solutions that enhance data reporting, statistical analysis, and process automation. Your responsibilities will span the full software development lifecycle—from prototyping and writing functional code to testing, deployment, and maintenance.
This role will leverage your expertise in programming languages, databases, and data visualisation tools to build scalable and efficient systems. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to support various stages of development, ensuring that solutions align with business needs and technical standards.
In addition, you will contribute to the thoughtful and responsible use of AI technologies, assessing when and how AI can be applied to improve the automation of reporting workflows, enhance data quality and insight generation, and streamline processes both within the team and across the organization.
You will report directly to the RSA Manager, contributing to initiatives that improve reporting accuracy, automate repetitive tasks, and optimize data workflows across the organization.
What You Will Do
Independently design, develop, and enhance automated reporting tools and statistical dashboards that support enterprise-wide data insights and decision-making.
Take ownership of data quality assurance processes, ensuring compliance with reporting standards and automation protocols across systems.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams—including data analytics, operations, and engineering—to optimise reporting accuracy and streamline data workflows.
Build and maintain scalable automation solutions that improve the efficiency and reliability of data collection, transformation, and visualisation pipelines.
Proactively identify opportunities to improve reporting workflows, automation strategies, and data infrastructure, contributing to the continuous evolution of best practices.
Solve moderately complex technical challenges with minimal guidance, while mentoring junior team members and fostering a culture of operational excellence.
Assess, design, and apply AI-driven solutions where appropriate, deciding when and how AI can be used responsibly and effectively to improve the automation of reporting workflows, enhance data quality checks, optimise analytical processes, and streamline operational processes both within the team and across collaborating teams.
What You Need to Be Successful
Advanced understanding of reporting frameworks, data pipelines, and automation tools, with the ability to design and optimise end-to-end reporting solutions.
3–5 years of hands-on experience with Python, SQL, and data visualisation platforms (e.g., Qlik, Power BI), applied in production environments.
Strong grasp of software development principles, including version control, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment strategies.
Proven ability to develop, scale, and maintain automated reporting systems and work with complex relational databases.
A collaborative mindset and intellectual curiosity to engage with cross-functional teams (e.g., Engineering, Project Management) and contribute to both operational and strategic reporting initiatives.
Strong problem-solving skills, creativity, and a proactive, hands-on approach to tackling technical challenges with persistence and ownership.
Ability to evaluate AI capabilities and limitations, and to make informed decisions on the use of AI technologies to enhance reporting automation, data validation, anomaly detection, insight generation, and process efficiency, while ensuring transparency, reliability, and alignment with business and technical standards.
Bonus Points if You Have
A degree in Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
Certifications in data engineering and automation.
Experience collaborating with international teams or across multiple business units.
Hands-on experience with reporting lifecycle management systems or ETL tools.
Experience experimenting with or integrating AI-assisted tools (e.g., for data analysis, automation, documentation, or decision support) in a professional or enterprise context.
What Makes You Eligible
You are fluent in English and capable of communicating complex technical ideas to diverse audiences.
You are based in or near Bucharest, with the ability to work in a hybrid or remote setup.
You are open to occasional travel for strategic workshops, stakeholder meetings, or cross-functional collaboration.
You are flexible with working hours to support global reporting cycles and high-priority initiatives.
