Job Description

We’re recruiting for a Scheme Underwriter to join us. We’re offering a base salary of £34,000-£44,000 and hybrid working. Are you ready to make a real impact in a dynamic and supportive team? We’re looking for an Underwriter to join our Group Protection Retail team. You’ll play a key role in delivering exceptional service to our customers while helping us grow our business. Whether you're already experienced or looking to take the next step in your underwriting career, we’d love to hear from you.

What you'll be doing:

• Assessing risk and setting pricing in line with underwriting guidelines
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers and brokers
• Collaborating with colleagues to meet shared financial and service goals
• Managing your workload to meet deadlines and communicating effectively when needed
• Supporting your own development by learning new skills and following your personal development plan
• Staying informed about new products, team updates, and business developments
• Ensuring customers receive clear, timely information to manage their policies
• Prioritising service for customers making changes, claims, or complaints

Qualifications

• Experience in underwriting or a related financial services role
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Confidence in using Microsoft Office, especially Excel
• Ability to adapt and stay motivated in a fast-paced environment
• A collaborative mindset and willingness to support team goals
• A proactive approach to personal development and learning
• Understanding of Group Protection products and regulations 
• Commitment to treating customers fairly and upholding high ethical standards
