  • Base Salary: $89,831 (Pro Rata) plus 17% superannuation


About the opportunity

We are seeking up to two dedicated and organised Research Data Associate(s) to join a collaborative research team based at the Sydney School of Public Health or Charles Perkins Centre. These roles support nationally significant research in type 1 diabetes, contributing to data analysis, predictive modelling and the interpretation of results that inform early life course determinants of disease and early‑detection strategies. You will work closely with Associate Professor Kylie Ann Mallitt from the Sydney School of Public Health and NHMRC Emerging Leadership Fellow Dr Kirstine Bell, contributing directly to high‑impact research with national and international reach.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • conduct quantitative analysis and statistical modelling into the prediction, screening and early detection of type 1 diabetes

  • work closely with Assoc Prof Kylie Ann Mallitt, Dr Kirstine Bell and their wider research teams to design and conduct analyses, interpret datasets, communicate findings and contribute to high‑quality research outputs

  • develop and refine independent research capability while contributing to broader faculty and project activities


About you

  • advanced skills and experience conducting statistical analyses within health, biomedical or related research fields 

  • demonstrated understanding of quantitative methods, including regression modelling

  • experience working with coded statistical analysis tools or software packages, such as R

  • a relevant bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent combination of training and experience, suitable for research at this level

  • desirable: experience working with omics data.
