Position Title: Associate General Counsel
Base Salary: $162,660 to $195,000 annually DOE
Bonus: Target annual bonus

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Associate General Counsel to join our legal team in Kirkland, WA. This is a hybrid role requiring three days per week in our Kirkland office. This position will provide strategic legal support across various facets of the business, with a focus on franchise agreements, pole attachment/joint use agreements and management, regulatory compliance, litigation management, and supporting the local government affairs team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in telecommunications law, including regulatory compliance, transactional support, and dispute resolution.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Essential Duties and Responsibilities listed below are a range of duties performed by the employee and not intended to reflect all duties performed.
· Regulatory Compliance: Advise on legal and regulatory issues related to telecommunications law, including Federal Communications Commission (FCC) regulations, state public utility laws, and industry-specific policies.
· Contract Negotiation and Drafting: Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including franchise agreements, pole attachment/joint use agreements, and general agreements with municipal and external infrastructure organizations .
· Litigation and Dispute Resolution: Manage and oversee the company’s litigation matters, including disputes related to telecommunications services, contracts, and regulatory compliance. Work closely with outside counsel as needed.
· Mergers & Acquisitions: Assist in mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and other corporate transactions, providing legal analysis and guidance through all stages of deal-making.
· Risk Management: Provide advice on risk management strategies, identifying potential legal risks, and recommending steps to mitigate them.
· Licensing and Permitting: Support and ensure compliance with applicable licenses, permits, and regulatory approvals needed to operate in various jurisdictions.
· Stakeholder Communication: Collaborate with internal departments, including regulatory affairs, government relations, and business development teams, to align legal strategies with business goals. Support local government affairs teams with municipal relations.
· Policy Advocacy: Assist in the development of internal policies and participate in advocacy efforts on telecommunications-related legislative and regulatory matters.
· Additional Duties: Performs other duties as required to support the business and evolving organization.
Required Qualifications:
· Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and admission to a state bar.
· Minimum of eight (8) years of experience as an attorney, with a significant portion of that time spent advising clients in the telecommunications industry or a closely related field.
· In-depth knowledge of telecommunications law, including regulatory and transactional matters.
· Proven experience drafting and negotiating contracts and agreements.
· Strong litigation experience.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with senior leadership and external stakeholders.
· Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
· Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a focus on pragmatic, business-minded solutions.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Experience working with or within a large telecommunications company or provider.
· Familiarity with emerging technologies and their legal implications in the telecommunications space (e.g., 5G, broadband expansion).

Work Environment
Work is performed in a hybrid model, requiring three days per week in our Kirkland, WA office. The work environment is a modern office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system.
