Job Role / Responsibilities:
We are seeking an Associate, Investments to support the Assistant Manager, Investments, in managing AKU’s fixed-income and equity portfolios. The role requires a detailed understanding of financial instruments, valuation techniques, and portfolio management, coupled with strong analytical, writing, and problem-solving skills. The incumbent will also be responsible for the accounting of investment deals.
Key responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed equity and fixed-income analysis, and performance attribution of the portfolios.
- Maintain and update the economic database for countries in which AKU operates.
- Assist in the preparation of investment committee meeting papers and drafting minutes of the meeting.
- Prepare weekly portfolio updates and schedules.
- Develop investment/ divestment proposals for the management and the investment committees.
- Negotiate with banks.
- Prepare investment letters, vouchers, and journal entries in PeopleSoft and MS Dynamics.
- Prepare and submit regulatory filings in compliance with applicable requirements.
Eligibility Criteria / Requirements:
- ACCA (Part Qualified) or Bachelor’s in Finance / Business Administration
- At least 2 to 3 years of relevant experience
- Strong knowledge of equity and fixed-income products and valuation methods (basic understanding of valuation models essential).
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Proactive approach with the ability to generate innovative ideas for value creation.
