Job Role / Responsibilities:

We are seeking an Associate, Investments to support the Assistant Manager, Investments, in managing AKU’s fixed-income and equity portfolios. The role requires a detailed understanding of financial instruments, valuation techniques, and portfolio management, coupled with strong analytical, writing, and problem-solving skills. The incumbent will also be responsible for the accounting of investment deals.

Key responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed equity and fixed-income analysis, and performance attribution of the portfolios.
• Maintain and update the economic database for countries in which AKU operates.
• Assist in the preparation of investment committee meeting papers and drafting minutes of the meeting.
• Prepare weekly portfolio updates and schedules.
• Develop investment/ divestment proposals for the management and the investment committees.
• Negotiate with banks.
• Prepare investment letters, vouchers, and journal entries in PeopleSoft and MS Dynamics.
• Prepare and submit regulatory filings in compliance with applicable requirements.

Eligibility Criteria / Requirements:

• ACCA (Part Qualified) or Bachelor’s in Finance / Business Administration
• At least 2 to 3 years of relevant experience
• Strong knowledge of equity and fixed-income products and valuation methods (basic understanding of valuation models essential).
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
• Proactive approach with the ability to generate innovative ideas for value creation.
