About the Team
This requirement is open for Analog Signal Chain (ASC) -Motor Drives (MD) group at Texas Instruments India. Our charter is to develop drivers for BLDC motors for Automotive and Industrial systems. These motor drives touch our everyday lives, and the innovation and reliability we bring to these products truly make the world a safer place! The BLDC Motor Drives product line develops both integrated and external control drivers for BLDC motors across industrial, automotive and enterprise markets. We are looking for highly motivated and passionate Validation engineer with background in power electronics and microcontrollers in BLDC motor drive application to join this product line. Your expertise will be instrumental in driving the growth of our business.
Job Responsibilities:
Join our innovative team as an Validation Engineer and drive technical excellence in BLDC motor driver and motor control applications. You will be responsible for owning and driving silicon validation for assigned project(s).
Work will involve,
- Work with the product definition and design team, before silicon availability to thoroughly understand validation requirements including device level, system level and compliance specifications.
- Define and own validation plan and schedule with coverage of all the use-cases and corner conditions.
- Development of test methods and efficient, reusable automation for the setups.
- Work with design team to perform Pre Si verification with the help of FPGA
- Drive the development of scalable validation boards meeting signal and power integrity requirements.
- Parametric data collection across PVT, using automation to execute a comprehensive validation plan.
- Drive reviews with extended team for validation boards, test results and debug.
- Work with cross functional teams (Systems, Apps, TE, PE, Quality) to support customer issues debug, root cause analysis and solution identification.
On anomalous behavior observed, perform debug through design of experiments to narrow down the source of the error including but not limited to – error in stimulus, error in hardware, isolating probable “on device” circuit blocks etc. responsible for the behavior.
Minimum requirements:
- Minimum education: bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
- Minimum 2 years of experience.
Preferred skills:
- Good understanding of semiconductor device fundamentals
- Good analog, power and mixed signal circuit fundamentals
- Good knowledge on test and measurement equipment’s and associated instrumentation
- Good knowledge of software tools like LabView, TestStand, Python scripting, Spotfire etc.
- Knowledge of Microcontrollers and FPGA
- Hands-on experience in designing PCBs
- Drive and own complex design and system debugs
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Good team player, ability to work with systems, design, test and applications engineering.
- Ability to independently carry on device debug by application of basic electrical engineering skills.
