Mantis Innovation delivers engineering-driven solutions across energy, infrastructure, and building systems. Our Building Management Systems (BMS) team designs and implements controls for complex facilities, including mission-critical environments.
We value technical rigor, defined standards, and disciplined execution. Engineers here are trusted to own their systems and stand behind their work.
We are hiring a BAS Controls Design Engineer who wants to own the technical details. This role is for someone who takes pride in getting it right. You will design, configure, and defend your systems. Your drawings and sequences will be the technical reference point for each project.
You will own BAS system design from concept through startup.
If you enjoy solving complex engineering problems and standing behind your work, we should talk!

What You Will Do

  • Lead technical design of BAS projects from scope review through startup
  • Create control drawings, sequences of operation, and submittal packages
  • Configure BAS controllers and develop system architectures
  • Support commissioning and resolve field-level technical issues
  • Maintain strict documentation and version control standards
  • Review design assumptions and defend technical decisions with data

What You Must Have

  • 2+ years of direct BAS engineering experience
  • Experience programming or configuring BAS platforms (Niagara, Distech, or similar)
  • Experience developing control drawings and submittals for live projects
  • Exposure to commissioning or startup
  • Strong HVAC and electrical system knowledge
  • Experience owning at least one full BAS project lifecycle

What You'll Get

  • Technical ownership of your systems
  • Defined project scope and engineering standards
  • Budget allocated annually for advanced technical certifications
  • Exposure to complex facilities and mission-critical environments
  • Hybrid flexibility (office-based role)
Note: Employees are held accountable for all duties of this job. This job description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties, responsibilities, or qualifications associated with the position.
What else can we offer you? We offer a fantastic lineup of benefits, including Medical, Dental, Vision, FSA, HSA, 401k Matching, Paid Vacation, Paid Sick, Paid Holidays, Paid Parental Leave, Paid Short Term & Long Term Disability, Tuition Reimbursement, and a flexible hybrid work schedule (for office-based employees). Working at Mantis also brings tremendous professional development opportunities that allow you to make a real impact on both the company and your career!
If you meet the technical requirements and want ownership over your systems, we encourage you to apply! We are looking for engineers who value precision and take responsibility for their work.
