About the role

You will play a key role in assisting and supporting the Internal Audit team deliver the Internal Audit Plan within agreed timeframes and budget. You will manage a portfolio of audits end to end, this can include performing a mix of in-house audits and overseeing audits assigned to our co-source service providers.  You will also be expected to contribute to internal audit activities such as actions follow-up, the development of the Annual Internal Audit Plan and the delivery of Committee papers.

This is a senior role, reporting directly to the Internal Audit Manager (Chief Audit Executive equivalent). A competitive salary will be offered to the right candidate.

Your responsibilities are:

  • Conduct, lead and project manage a diverse range of basic and complex audits and advisory reviews - meeting quality standards, deliverables, timeframes and budget.
  • Assist the Internal Audit Manager with managing co-source service providers.
  • Participate in the peer review process – review key deliverables for assigned audits completed by other Internal Audit team members.
  • Assist the Internal Audit team with the actions follow-up process.
  • Provide independent advice on the policies, internal controls and improvement opportunities associated with activities reviewed or advice sought.
  • Assist in the preparation of Audit & Risk Committee and Executive papers, and Management Reports.
  • Support and contribute to continuously improving internal audit processes.

 About you

  • CA/CPA/CIA qualified.
  • Big 4 or chartered experience, combined with industry experience in external or internal audit would be highly regarded.
  • Extensive experience in leading non-financial services audits within a large complex organisation.
  • Highly developed communication and report writing skills.
  • Proven ability to develop audit scopes and audit programs from a ‘blank sheet of paper’.
  • Experience in managing co-source service providers highly desirable.
  • Experience in regularly presenting to senior leaders including the Executive.
  • Demonstrated experience in analysing business processes and systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to change / pivot and manage multiple priorities and stakeholders to agreed timelines.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and build rapport with peers, leaders and stakeholders at all levels across the organisation.
