What we do at Weir

We are a global leader in mining technology for a sustainable future. We help our customers extract the resources the world needs more efficiently and more sustainably. Our planet’s future depends on the transition to renewable energy, and that transition can only happen with the metals and minerals our customers deliver. So, we work side by side with mines across the globe to move less rock, use less energy, use water wisely, and create less waste. Together, we drive the shift to smart, efficient, and more sustainable mining.

Make your impact

As the Area Manager you will be a key driver of Weir Minerals’ Aftermarket success, you’ll be the trusted face of our business across your region — strengthening customer relationships, maximising equipment performance, and unlocking growth across our installed base. This role is all about being on the ground, understanding customer challenges firsthand, and delivering solutions that keep their operations running safely, efficiently, and profitably.

What you’ll do

  • Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviours in support of our drive towards developing a world-class safety culture.

  • Customer Engagement: Act as the primary face of Weir Minerals at mine sites, building strong relationships at all levels—from senior executives to ground-level personnel—to foster trust and reliability.

  • Aftermarket Support: Focus on aftermarket service and spare parts management for Weir equipment, including creating spare parts lists and liaising with engineering teams to optimize plant and equipment performance.

  • Project Facilitation: Coordinate with product specialists to deliver inclusive and well-prepared proposals, supporting greenfield and brownfield projects, upgrades, and plant optimizations.

  • Market Analysis & Reporting: Track market share, conduct GAP analysis, and provide detailed weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports on activities, customer feedback, and market opportunities.

What you’ll bring

  • Experience in sales within the minerals processing industry (minimum 2 years), ideally with exposure to multiple product lines.

  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to diagnose equipment issues and understand complex site processes.

  • Proven ability to build rapport, influence stakeholders, and manage challenging customer situations with professionalism.

  • Commercial acumen — confident in budgeting, forecasting, negotiating pricing, and developing business cases.

  • A proactive, self‑driven mindset with the ability to work independently, prioritise effectively, and adapt to changing site demands.

  • Willingness to travel frequently across your region, including remote mine sites, with a commitment to safety in every environment.

  • Have a current drivers license
