About the Role

Do you have experience in providing tax compliance or business services in a professional services environment and are looking for a role where you can make your mark in Corporate/International Tax? Do you have a background and professional qualification in accounting?

BDO has an opportunity available for a Consultant in its Corporate Tax team. Our large and dynamic tax practice operates across Australia and offers access to premium clients and work. You will be part of a collaborative team that takes an holistic approach to tax compliance and advisory work, covering all aspects of the Australian and international tax spectrum. You will be involved in providing compliance services and some advisory to our clients ranging from small to medium sized clients to household multinational brand names. As a result, you can expect to: 

  • work in an inclusive environment as part of a great team;

  • perform tax compliance and advisory work; and 

  • work closely with Partners and other senior managers across key client matters. 

About you 

To be successful you should have the following: 

  • Around 1-2 years' Australian experience gained from working in the business service or tax practice of a small, mid-tier or Big 4 accounting firm.

  • Tertiary qualification in Commerce, Accounting.

  • Currently studying to complete your professional year.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Good understanding of speadsheets, basic accounting and a logical thinker.

  • Solid research, writing and analytical skills with an interest to develop these further. 

  • A collaborative, innovative and inclusive working style. 

  • Be open to new ways of thinking, a new approach and not afraid to challenge the status quo. 

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. 

  • A desire to specialise in tax and helping clients.
