We’re searching for an Accounting Clerk to join our team in our Gainesville office. Are you the type of person who color codes your family budget or calendar? Are your pens all arranged in a specific aesthetic order? Can you put down a project and pick it back up later without missing a beat? If so, James Moore has an opportunity for you! This position is responsible for the accurate input of data in various accounting software. It offers an opportunity for growth, promotion, and continuous training opportunities.

What you will do in this role:

  • Accounts payable responsibilities including charging expenses to accounts, recording entries, processing checks, resolving purchase orders or invoice discrepancies, verifying vendor accounts, and similar functions.
  • Recording of deposits and accounts receivables.
  • Imports of data into software.
  • Monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Creates data directories/subdirectories for file and report generation retrieval purposes.
  • Maintains electronic files of entered data.
  • Reviews discrepancies in data received from clients and requests clarification or advises supervisor of issues related to data.
  • Interacts with departmental and other staff on matters affecting data flow and makes recommendations for improvement or enhancement to job processes to ensure standards in data entry, collection, and retrieval.

What you'll bring to the table:

  • This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • The ideal candidate will be a team player who has a desire to expand their accounting knowledge.
  • Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Accounts payable or accounts receivable experience is preferred.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Experience with accounting software systems, including QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, Sage MAS 90, MIP, CCH Axcess, BILL or ADP preferred.
