WHO ARE WE?

The Rev. Bill Crews Foundation ('BCF') is one of Sydney’s most trusted frontline charities and has been supporting the community for 40 years. Our mission is to address homelessness and hardship by providing essential services including food, social welfare, healthcare, education and community programs.

Our Crews Café is an important part of our operations, providing high quality coffee and meals in a fast paced, professional and team focused environment. The café supports staff, volunteers and the broader community and plays a valued role in our organisation.

THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced and reliable Café All Rounder with strong barista skills to join our Crews Café team.

This role requires someone confident working independently across coffee preparation, food service and general café operations. You will take pride in producing consistently high quality coffee and food while delivering professional and friendly service.

This is a casual position with shifts available Monday to Friday. Typical hours fall between 7:00am and 3:00pm.

You will work within an experienced and supportive team and contribute to maintaining the high standards of the café.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

As our Café All Rounder, your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing consistently high quality espresso coffee using a commercial coffee machine
  • Operating Vittoria Coffee equipment and maintaining coffee quality standards
  • Preparing and cooking light meals including sandwiches, chips and breakfast menu items
  • Managing customer orders and operating the point of sale ('POS') system
  • Maintaining a clean, safe and well organised café environment
  • Supporting stock control, restocking and daily café setup and pack down
  • Providing professional, efficient and friendly customer service
  • Working independently and collaboratively within the café team

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

You are an experienced café professional who is confident managing coffee service and food preparation in a busy environment.

You’ll also bring:

  • Demonstrated barista experience using commercial espresso machines
  • Previous experience working with Vittoria Coffee highly regarded
  • Proven experience preparing and cooking light café meals and breakfast service
  • The ability to manage coffee service efficiently during peak periods
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • A reliable, professional and proactive approach to work
  • The ability to work autonomously when required
  • Availability to work weekday shifts, Monday to Friday

This role is best suited to someone with prior experience working in a busy café environment.
