We are seeking an experienced and motivated School and Groups Team Leader to join our team at the end of February.
As Queenstown Schools and Groups Team Leader you will be responsible for ensuring an exceptional experience for our Schools and Groups guests. You will manage the Queenstown S&G team ensuring we have a seamless and efficient booking processes for Regional and Australian S&G guests.
A key measure of performance is how well you engage with all stakeholders including maintaining high standards of responsiveness and communication with operational teams on both mountains, and NZSki transport along with scheduling of your team across both Queenstown mountains to ensure S&G Coordinator coverage 7 days/week at all locations.
The main function of the role is in-season management of pre-booked Local Schools Camps, Regional (NZ) Schools and School Tour bookings from trade agents from Australia. You will communicate and work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure they have all the information required to plan ahead for allocation of resources. Prior experience in the Snowsports industry would be beneficial in supporting the customer journey of Schools and Groups.
About the role
• Managing in-season regional NZ and Australian School Tours bookings from enquiry to visit planning, hosting on arrival to mountain, and account reconciliation.
• Collaborating with all operational stakeholders' to ensure a seamless experience for S&G guests as well as stakeholder experience with the S&G team.
• Providing timely and accurate quoting, invoicing, and advance payment processing
• Maintaining and updating booking databases, ensuring all requests are actioned efficiently
• Coordinating with teams on disrupt days to manage capacity and create a plan of action.
• Serving as the primary in-season contact for Local, Regional, and Australian School Tours, with communication beginning daily from 7am.
• Working alongside our Reservations team during disrupt days to identify rescheduling opportunities (which may include lift and rental-only options)
• Leading and executing the 2026 S&G Season Plan together with your Schools and Groups coordinators.
About You
• Excited about winter Snowsports environments, leadership and excellent communication skills.
• Minimum two years of experience working with Schools and Groups bookings.
• Experience in front-line customer service and deliver a world class guest experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Outlook and experienced with Point of Sale and Scheduling systems.
• Skilled in managing high volume client bookings and account reconciliation.
• Willing and able to work across both Queenstown mountains equally during the winter season, in various alpine weather conditions.
• Calm under pressure and adaptable to changing environments.
• Knowledge of NZ school risk management processes (preferred).
• Resort Management Software experience and Alpine Resort Operations Level 3 qualification.
