Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 7 years of experience in business development, partnerships, sales or management consulting.
- Ability to communicate in Japanese and English fluently in order to partner with internal and external stakeholders.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience in executing operational initiatives.
- Understanding of the games market, standards, business models, business channels and engaged landscape.
- Ability to monitor and analyze the effectiveness of projects, using insights to tailor messaging and tactics that maximize impact.

As a Strategic Partner Development Manager, you'll open doors with potential partners, lead exploratory discussions and evaluate/develop business opportunities. You will lead cross-functional teams, provide thought leadership and serve as a mentor to managers and associates. You are comfortable escalating and presenting business development strategies and key issues to senior management. You'll work closely with Google Product, Engineering, Legal and Sales teams on new product initiatives and key strategic relationships that support our online advertising business.The Play Partnerships team works with the developers that are the lifeblood of this ecosystem. The content, games, and applications they create bring Android devices to life. In this role, you will help developers grow their businesses on the Android platform and inspire them to adopt new products and features to create helpful and joyful experiences for our users.
Google Play offers music, movies, books, apps and games for devices, powered by the cloud. It syncs across devices and on the web. As part of the Android and Mobile team, Googlers working on Google Play do everything from engineering our backend systems, to shaping product strategy, to forming great content partnerships. They make it possible for people to do things like buy an ebook or song on their Android phone, then have it instantly available on their laptop. The Google Play team enhances the Android ecosystem by giving developers and partners a premium store where they can reach millions of users.Responsibilities
- Own and manage business pipelines and develop partnership plans to drive initiatives to improve performance. Manage the execution of partnership plans, deliver reporting and insights, and work with operations teams to ensure lead tracking.
- Provide business consultations to key partners to contribute to the business growth, in the global region, based on analysis of metrics, performance, best practices, and priorities.
- Advocate for Google's new products and services to drive developer growth. Identify product gaps for enhancement and plan and execute developer events with cross-Google teams to create best practices. Lead cross-functional projects, managing trackers and timelines to achieve objectives.
- Communicate progress and synthesize feedback for stakeholders. Identify new technical collaboration opportunities between developers and Google, developing execution plans.
- Lead technical discussions, advocate developer needs, and secure cross-functional team commitment across product, engineering, marketing, and commerce.
