More about the role
We’re looking for a Systems Engineer to play a key technical role in delivering complex lighting control and connected systems projects in the Pacific, with a strong focus on major infrastructure programs including North East Link.
As part of our Pacific Systems & Services team, this role will work closely with Sales, Proposals and Project Management to ensure high-quality system design, commissioning and handover across the region.
You will be responsible to:
- Develop detailed technical designs for lighting control and connected systems to meet project specifications and integration requirements
- Review and verify control designs, schematics and drawings for accuracy and compliance
- Lead and coordinate system commissioning (remote and on-site), ensuring operational readiness and performance
- Prepare and manage system testing documentation, turnover packages and as-built records
- Provide technical input during pre-sales, proposal development and design validation phases
- Support Project Managers during execution, including managing commissioning partners and subcontractors on-site
- Monitor system performance against scope and budget, resolving technical issues and punch-list items
- Deliver customer training and documentation at handover to ensure long-term system success
- Contribute technical feedback to improve system architectures and building blocks for future projects

- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer or related Engineering discipline
- 3 – 5+ years’ experience in system design, commissioning and technical delivery within a controls, building automation, infrastructure or related environment
- Experience working with subcontractors or commissioning partners on complex projects
- Strong understanding of control systems, networked systems and system integration
- Confident stakeholder communicator across sales, project teams and customers
- Ability to work on-site when required, with Melbourne preferred due to major project commitments
