Role Overview
We are seeking a Backend Developer who can design, develop, and scale backend services and APIs. The candidate will collaborate with frontend teams, product managers, and DevOps to ensure seamless end-to-end functionality. The ideal candidate should be passionate about writing clean, maintainable code and building secure, high-performance backend systems.
Key Responsibilities
Backend Development (Primary Focus)
Develop and maintain RESTful APIs using Node.js and LoopBack 4.
Design scalable backend architecture ensuring high performance and reliability.
Implement controllers, repositories, models, interceptors, middleware, and datasources.
Develop reusable modules and maintain clean code standards.
Implement authentication and authorization mechanisms (JWT, RBAC, OAuth2).
Handle structured logging, error management, and exception handling.
Implement API versioning, rate limiting, and request validation.
Manage file uploads and storage integrations (AWS S3 preferred).
Participate in code reviews and architectural discussions.
Database Development
Work extensively with PostgreSQL.
Write and optimize complex SQL queries, joins, and aggregations.
Design indexes and improve query performance.
Manage transactions and timezone handling.
Create and maintain migration and seed scripts.
Frontend Collaboration (Basic Angular Exposure)
Support Angular teams with backend API integration.
Understand Angular components, services, and reactive forms.
Assist with HTTP interceptors and API communication.
Support client-server validation and state handling when required.
Must-Have Technical Skills
Backend & Frameworks
Strong hands-on experience in Node.js.
Expertise in LoopBack 4 (controllers, models, repositories, interceptors).
Experience with Express.js or NestJS.
API & Architecture
Strong understanding of REST API design principles.
Experience with OpenAPI/Swagger documentation.
Knowledge of microservices architecture.
Programming & Tools
Strong proficiency in TypeScript (interfaces, decorators, generics).
Git and Git-based workflows.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
Security
Implementation of JWT, OAuth2, and role-based access control.
Understanding of OWASP Top 10 and input validation best practices.
Testing
Experience with unit and integration testing (Jest, Mocha, Supertest).
Ability to write mocks, stubs, and maintain test coverage.
Cloud Exposure
Basic understanding of AWS/Azure/GCP deployments and managed services.
Nice-to-Have Skills
LoopBack 3 to LoopBack 4 migration experience.
Docker and containerized environments.
Performance profiling and API monitoring tools.
Knowledge of GraphQL.
Candidate Requirements
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
