The Role

We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead the CMS team.

You will join a team of 7 engineers (backend and frontend), primarily based in Lyon, and report to the Tribe Lead of Communication & Collaboration.

The scope includes:

  • Pages

  • Content

  • Widgets

  • Articles

  • Editor / Designer

  • Back-office

Why This Role Is Strategic

The CMS is at the core of the LumApps platform.

Every page created, every piece of content published, and every personalized experience relies on it. Many other product domains directly depend on its capabilities.

This is a high-leverage role:

  • Central product scope

  • Direct impact on overall product delivery capacity

  • A Product Manager partnership to structure and elevate

  • An organization evolving in a post-merger context

If you enjoy environments where you can truly structure and influence - not just maintain - this role is for you.

Your Mission

Create the conditions for the team to deliver effectively on a central product scope by ensuring:

  • Clear prioritization

  • Strong Product / Engineering collaboration

  • Sustainable and predictable execution

This role is primarily focused on leadership and delivery. Hands-on technical contribution may happen occasionally but is not expected on a daily basis.

Expected Impact

Within the First 3 Months
  • Build trust with the team

  • Develop a deep understanding of the technical and product landscape

  • Establish a strong partnership with the Product Manage

  • Clarify short-term priorities

  • Bring more structure and visibility to team execution

The focus is alignment and stabilization - not transformation.

By 6 Months
  • Smoother and more widely understood prioritization

  • More predictable delivery cadence

  • Stronger Product / Engineering collaboration

  • Increased ownership from engineers

  • Clear and confident technical decision-making

The expected impact is tangible: greater clarity, stronger alignment, and calmer execution.

Responsibilities

Leadership & People Management
  • Manage and support a team of backend and frontend engineers

  • Foster autonomy, growth, and accountability

  • Structure effective collaboration practices

Delivery
  • Prioritize in close partnership with the Product Manager

  • Protect the team’s delivery capacity

  • Provide visibility on objectives, trade-offs, and progress

  • Establish a healthy build → release → learn loop

Technical Leadership
  • Challenge and support architectural decisions

  • Facilitate trade-off discussions with senior engineers

  • Maintain a strong balance between quality, maintainability, and speed

Profile

Must-have
  • Proven experience managing engineering teams

  • Strong technical background (former Software Engineer)

  • Ability to prioritize and align multiple stakeholders

  • Comfort working in a structured product environment

Nice-to-have
  • SaaS B2B experience

  • Experience working on mature products with maintainability challenges

  • Product-driven organization experience

Location & Work Model

  • Lyon (preferred) or Paris

  • Hybrid model: 2 days in-office / 3 days remote

  • Other European hubs may be considered (Poland)

Hiring Process

  1. Talent screening (30 minutes)

  2. Leadership and context discussion with the Tribe Lead

  3. Technical discussion (architecture / system design)

  4. Panel interview with key team members (PM + engineers)
