The Team Member Legal will be an integral part of our Commercial Banking team, offering legal guidance and support. This role involves collaborating with various teams, reviewing and drafting legal documents, and ensuring compliance with regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong legal background, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to legal matters.
- Provide legal advice and support to the Commercial Banking team on a wide range of matters.
- Review and draft legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and policies.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
- Conduct legal research and analysis to support decision-making processes.
- Collaborate with other departments to identify and mitigate legal risks.
- Maintain and update legal records and documentation.
- Assist in legal due diligence processes for transactions and projects.
- Liaise with external counsel and regulatory bodies as required.
- Stay updated on legal trends and changes relevant to the banking industry.
- Support the team in resolving legal queries and providing timely solutions.
- A Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or an equivalent legal degree.
- Admission to the Bar or eligibility to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a legal role, preferably in a banking or financial services environment.
- Strong knowledge of commercial law, contract law, and banking regulations.
- Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in legal drafting and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively.
- A proactive and solution-oriented approach to legal matters.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal research tools.
