Get to Know the Team

We are dedicated to providing high-quality Amazon Machine Images (AMI) and container images for the entire company. We also offer a platform that allows other engineering teams to customize their AMIs and container images, ensuring they meet industry best practices such as CIS hardening.

Get to Know the Role 

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled engineer to drive the automation of our cloud infrastructure management and developer tooling. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in one or more major cloud environments, a strong foundation in DevOps principles and practices, and proven scripting/coding proficiency. Experience working within platform or CI/CD teams, specifically focusing on delivering robust, efficient functionality to a large developer community, is highly valued. This role is crucial for scaling our operations and optimizing developer efficiency through sophisticated tooling and automation. In this role, you will significantly expand your technical skillset across diverse areas, including advanced systems administration, integration with complex vendor ecosystems, cutting-edge cloud automation and security protocols, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices.

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

• You engineer automation for cloud infrastructure and platform operations, leveraging tools like Terraform, Ansible, or similar IaC (Infrastructure as Code) technologies.

• You empower the Grab developer community by building self-service tooling and streamlining workflows to accelerate their development lifecycle.

• You are a key player in designing, implementing, and maintaining high-quality Golden AMIs (Amazon Machine Images) and container images for Grab's massive engineering fleet, ensuring compliance and optimal performance following cutting-edge industry standards.

• You are a security champion, ensuring all platform development and operations rigorously adhere to security best practices, guardrails, and compliance standards.

• You deliver impactful, scalable technical solutions that elevate the efficiency and stability of the entire organization's cloud presence.

What Essential Skills You Will Need

• You have ownership of both your own project and team's product. Work toward the best, and to improve day by day.

• You have experience with one or more cloud environments (AWS or other cloud providers)

• You are an experienced DevOps or DevSecOps practitioner, and have operated production services in cloud environments

• You have experience with build and deploy tooling (e.g., Gitlab, Jenkins, and Docker)

• You have experience with automation for infrastructure and configuration deployment /management tools - Terraform, Ansible, or similar

• You are proficient in Linux system administration and command-line tools

• You are excited to learn and apply new technologies

• You have experience with microservice architectures

• You have experience with container orchestration platform - K8S, EKS, ECS or similar

• You are proficient in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash)
