Are you a skilled Pharmacy Technician who is passionate about serving others and making a difference in your community? We are seeking a dedicated professional to join our dynamic pharmacy team at the Puyallup Tribal Health Authority (PTHA).  This is more than a pharmacy role — it is an opportunity to contribute to the health, wellness, and well-being of Indigenous families while honoring and respecting traditions, values, and culture.

As a Pharmacy Technician at PTHA, you will work closely with pharmacists and healthcare providers to ensure safe, accurate, and timely prescription services in a high-volume environment (800–1,200 prescriptions daily). You will play a vital role in patient care, customer service, and pharmacy operations.

What You’ll Do:

Your daily work as a Pharmacy Technician will directly support the health of our patients and families, helping to ensure access to essential medications and trusted healthcare services.

  • Assist pharmacists with prescription preparation and dispensing
  • Triage patients at the pharmacy window with professionalism and compassion
  • Process new and refill prescriptions (in person, phone, electronic, and fax)
  • Perform pharmaceutical calculations, labeling, counting, pouring, and mixing medications
  • Verify patient information, eligibility, and insurance
  • Troubleshoot third-party billing rejections and complete prior authorizations
  • Maintain pharmaceutical inventory, inspect for outdates, and restock as needed
  • Document stock movement, returns, and destructions
  • Support training of technical staff in billing, inventory control, and prescription production
  • Rotate through all pharmacy work areas to support team workflow
  • Participate in monthly pharmacy meetings and annual required trainings
  • Maintain strict HIPAA compliance and confidentiality standards

What You Bring:

  • Current WA State Pharmacy Technician certification
  • At least (2) years' experience as a Pharmacy Technician
  • Recent experience in a retail pharmacy is strongly preferred
  • Proficiency in third-party billing and dosage calculations
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced pharmacy environment
