Job Description
AV is seeking a Research Scientist to join our growing team at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio. In this role, you will support cutting-edge research within the Human Performance Directorate of the 711th Human Performance Wing, contributing to the Air Force's mission to optimize human performance in demanding aerospace environments.
What You Will Do
Identify, integrate, and test hardware and software systems that enable advanced aerospace physiology research.
Support a variety of biomechanical, biometric, and cognitive data collection and analysis efforts.
Troubleshoot and maintain experimental equipment, ensuring reliable data acquisition and system functionality.
Collaborate effectively with human subjects, government researchers, and industry partners to support ongoing studies and research initiatives.
Document research protocols, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and technical findings to support project deliverables.
What Qualifications You Will Bring
This position is working within a government facility and requires U.S. Citizenship
Master's degree in a related scientific, engineering, or health-focused field
5 years of relevant research or industry experience.
Hands-on experience acquiring, installing, and maintaining test equipment to meet specific project or research requirements.
Proven experience in the collection, management, and analysis of large datasets, including working with data communication protocols and analysis pipelines.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience authoring reports, SOPs, and test documentation.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary research environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience working with human subjects in research or clinical settings.
Programming experience (e.g., Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW, or similar).
Experience with CAD modeling or design for laboratory setups and experimental systems.
