Role Summary
· Lead design of drilling equipment and systems components for offshore and onshore industry applications, mainly mud/slurry pump components for mining applications
· Owns the technical package for mining products across the engineering lifecycle
· Provides technical leadership, mentoring, and design governance withing and outside the Engineering function
· Drives design quality, reliability, and continuous improvement
· Act as a key technical interface with global HMH stakeholders
Essential Functions
· Lead the design and development of drilling equipment and system components, mainly pump systems and critical components
· Define design concepts, layouts, and technical solutions
· Formulate and implement plans to meet technical requirements, schedules, and contract commitments
· Review and approve designs, calculations, and drawings
· Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety, and HMH processes
· Guide FEA/CFD activities and interpret results for design decisions
· Support testing, commissioning, and field issue resolution
· Mentor and technically guide junior engineers
· Collaborate with manufacturing to optimize cost and producibility
· Contribute to standardization and product platform strategies
· Support supplier technical evaluations and reviews
Basic Qualifications
· B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering (M.E./M.Tech preferred)
· 6–10+ years of experience in pump or heavy equipment design
· Proven experience leading mechanical design tasks or sub‑systems
· Strong command of mechanical engineering fundamentals
Desired Qualifications
· Deep experience with mud/slurry pumps or mining equipment
· Experience in the design of machined, cast, and fabricated parts
· Advanced knowledge of API, ASME, ISO standards
· Hands‑on experience with FEA/CFD and test correlation
· Experience working in global OEM engineering organizations
· Strong technical communication and mentoring capability
