We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Officer. This role supports effective management decision-making by ensuring the accurate accounting, analysis, and reporting of revenue, expenses, assets, and liabilities across VU Sydney and Brisbane and ECA Corporate activities. The position plays a key role in maintaining financial integrity, providing timely and reliable financial information, and supporting planning, forecasting, and performance monitoring.

The role requires regular interaction and collaboration with Business Heads, Finance teams, and other internal stakeholders to understand operational activities and translate them into accurate financial outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process agent-related transactions, including receiving, reviewing and verifying agent invoices for commissions, bonuses and marketing support.
  • Issue student invoices in the system based on enrolment load for each block.
  • Update student payments on the system accurately.
  • Record agent payments in the system following execution of payments in the General Ledger.
  • Process non-agent vendor payments by booking accounts payable in the General Ledger.
  • Prepare weekly bank reconciliations for all college bank accounts.
  • Record and reconcile credit card expenses on a monthly basis

As the successful candidate you will ideally have:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience.
  • At two years of experience in accounts payable or reliable preferably in the higher education industry.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and engage effectively with students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of the ESOS Act and National Code relevant to international education.
