INTEGRIS Health Heart Hospital is seeking a cardiothoracic and transplant surgeon to step into a key leadership role within our comprehensive, high-acuity cardiovascular program. This is a unique opportunity to help guide the state’s only heart and lung transplant program and contribute to a Top 10 nationally ranked LVAD implantation program, supported by a strong group of cardiologists, pulmonologists and ECMO and mechanical circulatory support (MCS) service line.
Position Overview
The candidate will join a collaborative team of cardiothoracic, transplant, VAD, and critical care specialists dedicated to delivering cardiothoracic surgical care including advanced heart and lung therapies. This role includes clinical responsibilities along with program leadership and development, quality improvement, and strategic vision for the continued growth of our transplant and MCS programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide surgical care in adult cardiac, thoracic, transplant, and mechanical circulatory support.
- Serve as a clinical leader within the transplant and MCS programs, partnering with hospital leadership and multidisciplinary teams.
- Advance program development, quality initiatives, and innovation across heart and lung transplant, LVAD, ECMO, and complex cardiothoracic surgery.
- Participate in call coverage in a shared, team-oriented model.
Qualifications
- Experienced cardiothoracic surgeon.
- Board-certified in Cardiothoracic Surgery.
- Completion of fellowship training in heart and/or lung transplantation and MCS preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in advanced heart failure surgery, transplant, LVAD, ECMO, and complex cardiothoracic care.
- Record of leadership, communication, and multidisciplinary collaboration.

The Physician responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Thoroughly evaluates and manages each patient appropriately and documents information completely by use of written notes or dictation on a timely basis
- Identifies relevant medical issues accurately and uses appropriate procedures and testing
- Completes and maintains problem list, medication list, disease management forms, preventative maintenance flow sheets and other medical record forms
- Participates in the quality improvement and medical management plans as directed by the Medical Operating Committee
- Provides direction to staff members for an efficient and smooth running team
- Ensures fiscal viability of the practice
- Complies with policies and procedures if applicable.
- The Physician is responsible for patients.

Moderate exposure to hazardous risks, including potential for exposure to infections and communicable diseases, blood and body fluids, electrical equipment, chemicals. Exposed to constant interruptions, noise, disagreeable odors, and assorted chemicals.
