Role Description:

As a Financial Controller, you are a key figure within the finance team and responsible for accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and the further professionalisation of our processes and systems. You support multiple entities (currently: Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Spain, Germany, and their subsidiaries) in an international, fast-evolving environment.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Reporting

• Managing the accounting and Revenue Recognition in accordance with applicable standards

• Preparing and publishing timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings

• Investigating technical accounting issues to ensure compliance

• Ensuring quality and accuracy of financial transactions and reporting

• Supporting the regulatory year-end close process

• Contract review from a financial accounting perspective

Planning & Analysis

• Preparing budgets and financial forecasts

• Reporting and analysing variances

• Setting up standard reporting and delivering ad-hoc analyses for management

Internal Controls & Processes

• Developing, documenting, and strengthening internal controls, business processes, and accounting policies

• Ensuring compliance with local, regional, and international reporting requirements and tax obligations

• Contributing to the further rollout and optimisation of the NetSuite ERP system

Other tasks

• Performing additional controlling tasks depending on the needs of the team and the growth of the organisation

• Supporting payroll-related financial processes (experience with payroll is a plus)

Skills & Competencies

• In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and financial standards

• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills

• Excellent IT skills and knowledge of relevant financial software

• Experience with ERP systems; NetSuite is a plus

• Strong organisational skills, time management, and multitasking abilities

• Attention to detail and high accuracy

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

• Language skills: fluent Dutch, good knowledge of French and English; Spanish is an asset
  
  Experience & Education (required)
  

  • Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a similar field

  • Proven experience as a Financial Controller

  • Experience with payroll processes

  • Experience in an international context is a clear plus
    

Onboarding
As part of our onboarding process, all new employees will be required to attend / travel to the office on their first day of employment. This requirement is essential for onboarding activities, including the identity verification, completion of necessary documentation, receiving your IT equipment, introductions to key team members, and orientation to Clinisys policies and procedures.

Kernverantwoordelijkheden 

Accounting & Reporting 

• Beheren van de boekhouding en Revenue Recognition volgens geldende standaarden 

• Voorbereiden en publiceren van tijdige maand-, kwartaal- en jaarafsluitingen 

• Onderzoeken van technische accountingvraagstukken om compliance te garanderen 

• Waarborgen van kwaliteit en nauwkeurigheid van financiële transacties en rapportering 

• Ondersteunen van het regulatory year-end close proces 

• Contract review vanuit een financieelaccounting perspectief 
  

Planning & Analysis 

• Voorbereiden van budgetten en financiële forecasts 

• Rapporteren en analyseren van variances 

• Opzetten van standaardrapportering en leveren van adhoc analyses voor het management 
  

Internal Controls & Processes 

• Ontwikkelen, documenteren en versterken van interne controles, business processen en accounting policies 

• Zorgen voor naleving van lokale, regionale en internationale rapporteringseisen en fiscale verplichtingen 

• Meewerken aan de verdere uitrol en optimalisatie van het NetSuite ERPsysteem 
  

Overige taken 

• Uitvoeren van bijkomende controllertaken naargelang de noden van het team en de groei van de organisatie 

• Ondersteunen van payroll-gerelateerde financiële processen (ervaring met payroll is een plus) 
  
  Vaardigheden & Competenties 

  • Diepgaande kennis van accountingprincipes en financiële standaarden 

  • Sterke analytische en kritische denkvaardigheden 

  • Uitstekende ITskills en kennis van relevante financiële software 

  • Ervaring met ERPsystemen; NetSuite is een plus 

  • Sterke organisatievaardigheden, timemanagement en multitasking-capaciteiten 

  • Oog voor detail en hoge nauwkeurigheid 

  • Uitstekende communicatievaardigheden, zowel mondeling als schriftelijk 

  • Taalvaardigheid: vloeiend Nederlands, goede kennis van Frans en Engels; Spaans is een troef 
    
    Ervaring & Opleiding (vereist) 

    • Master in Accounting, Finance of een gelijkaardige studie 

    • Bewezen ervaring als Financial Controller 

    • Ervaring met payrollprocessen 

    • Ervaring in een internationale context is een duidelijke plus 
      

Onboarding

Als onderdeel van ons onboardingproces worden alle nieuwe werknemers verwacht op hun eerste werkdag op kantoor aanwezig te zijn / naar kantoor te reizen. Deze aanwezigheid is essentieel voor de onboardingactiviteiten, waaronder identiteitsverificatie, het invullen van de benodigde documentatie, het in ontvangst nemen van IT‑apparatuur, kennismaking met belangrijke teamleden en een introductie tot de Clinisys‑richtlijnen en procedures.
