We transform waste into resources and renewable energy.  When you start to think of waste as a resource, it opens a world of possibilities.

As a high growth, ASX listed organisation with over 10,000 employees, our goal is to be recognised by our customers as the most innovative and sustainable waste management company with industry leading HSE performance.  We are Australia’s largest company in this sector, providing essential services to millions of customers and communities nationally.

The Opportunity

We’re seeking a Human Resources Business Partner to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term parental leave contract (0.6 FTE). In this role, you will partner closely with operational leaders to provide strategic, operationally focused HR support, guiding decisions, building leadership capability, and contributing to initiatives that shape the workforce.

Key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Build strong, trusted relationships with leaders, coaching and influencing them to drive effective people outcomes.
  • Analyse and interpret workforce data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, providing practical and forward-looking recommendations.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the business to ensure HR initiatives are aligned with operational and strategic priorities.
  • Support onboarding, succession planning, talent development, and capability-building initiatives that strengthen the workforce.
  • Contribute to initiatives that support gender equity, talent pipelines, and sustainable workforce planning.
  • Provide guidance on ER matters when required, with the primary focus of the role centred on strategic partnership rather than high-volume case management.

About You

  • Strategic and operationally minded HR professional with a passion for partnering with leaders to drive business and people outcomes.
  • Skilled at leveraging data and insights to identify trends, anticipate challenges, and recommend practical solutions.
  • Solid understanding of employee relations, with experience in handling ER cases and providing practical guidance to leaders.
  • Excellent communication skills, strong relationship-builder, confident in coaching, influencing, and inspiring leaders.
  • The flexibility to travel between sites and hold an unrestricted driver's license.
