- Employment Type: Casual Monday to Sunday.
- Salary: Band 3, Casual $34.03 per hour + Superannuation.

About the Role
The Visitor Liaison and Security Officer plays a key role in creating a welcoming, safe and memorable experience for everyone visiting Bunjil Place. In this frontline role, you’ll be the first point of contact for patrons, clients and community members providing friendly support, clear information and exceptional customer service in a vibrant arts and events environment.
What You’ll deliver
- Deliver exceptional customer service by engaging with visitors, providing helpful information, and ensuring a welcoming experience across the precinct
- Maintain a safe and secure environment through proactive visibility, monitoring access, and responding professionally to incidents, emergencies, and safety concerns.
- Resolve issues and de‑escalate situations with empathy, clear communication, and sound judgement to support positive outcomes for visitors and staff
- Support precinct operations by sharing knowledge of events and facilities, assisting teams across the precinct, and following established procedures
- Accurately report and document incidents, near misses, and relevant security or access information to ensure compliance and continuous safety improvement.
What You’ll Bring
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage confidently with visitors, staff and the public, and resolve minor issues with professionalism and empathy.
- Sound judgement and decision‑making, using established procedures and clear guidelines to respond effectively in a range of recurring and occasionally high‑pressure situations.
- Ability to manage your time and work independently, planning and organising your tasks to meet objectives while contributing positively within a team environment.
- Competency in standard security and safety practices, supported by qualifications such as Certificate II in Security Operations (with crowd control), First Aid Level 2, RSA, and required checks.
- A proactive, customer‑focused mindset, with the capability to follow procedures, interpret instructions and contribute to a safe, welcoming and community‑oriented precinct.
- Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including National Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check, Eligibility to Work check, Psychometric Testing, and Functional Assessment (Medical/physio).
