What is the role 

Based in our Brisbane office, the role is a full-time (38 hours) Monday to Friday, and with on-call required.

The primary role for the Systems Engineer is to provide technical support to clients including remedial maintenance support on infrastructure, LAN and WAN networks and implementation of new technologies. This position works closely with other members of the Service Delivery team to ensure client environments are supported and maintained to required standards and SLAs are met.

Duties and responsibilities for the role may include but are not limited to the following:

  • Provide remote and onsite support for client environments
  • Test, diagnose, repair, configure, and upgrade hardware and IT equipment
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues
  • Work with clients to understand technical needs and requirements
  • Maintain environments to ensure performance, reliability, security, and privacy
  • Assist with technology recommendations and solution design documentation
  • Act as an escalation point for junior team members
  • Monitor system logs, create incident tasks, and respond to issues to meet SLAs
  • Liaise with vendors when required
  • Ensure equipment configurations and error logs meet specifications
  • Maintain and update technical procedures and system documentation
  • Improve and automate technical processes where possible
  • Stay current with relevant technologies through ongoing learning
  • Accurately document daily activity in the required time‑sheeting system
  • Participate in the on‑call roster as needed

 

Who we are looking for 

  • 3 years of experience in Systems Engineer
  • Strong hardware, OS, installation, configuration, and troubleshooting skills
  • Experienced with Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Intune (MS‑900 valued)
  • Solid networking knowledge: DNS, routing, VLANs, VPNs
  • Hands‑on experience with networks, security appliances, and enterprise environments
  • Skills across Windows Server, Group Policy, Exchange, O365, virtualization, cloud, and IT security
  • Familiar with backup tools: Datto, Veeam, ShadowProtect
  • Delivered small–medium projects: migrations, upgrades, office moves
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills
  • Team-oriented with good time management and client-focused mindset
  • Certifications from Cisco, Microsoft (MS‑900/AZ‑900/SC‑900), VMware, Veeam, Fortinet, or Sophos are an advantage
  • ITIL V4 and Sophos/Fortinet experience desirable
