About Us
The SAF AI Centre (SAIC) is a unit within the Digital and Intelligence Service, established in August 2024, dedicated to addressing SAF's operational data science challenges and operationalising AI solutions. As the centre of excellence for Artificial Intelligence, SAIC enhances the operational capabilities of the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF), driving productivity and efficiency through innovative AI solutions that advance SAF's defence capabilities.

Who We Are Looking For
We are seeking an AI Developer to tackle technically challenging problems in data science and AI applications. In this role, you have the unique opportunity to shape AI solutions that directly impact Singapore's national defence. You develop and deploy DSAI solutions that enhance decision-making, streamline operations, and bolster SAF's operational readiness.
To succeed, you need to stay up to date with the latest developments in AI and Machine Learning technology, as this will allow you to proactively identify, initial and promulgate worthwhile engineering project is essential to develop a strong understanding of SAF's military processes, bridging technological capabilities with practical military applications.
What You Will Do
- Engage with SAF personnel across all four services (Army, Navy, Airforce, DIS) to understand the unique operational needs and challenges within military contexts
- Design, develop, and deploy AI and ML models to address complex, mission-critical challenges faced by the SAF
- Integrate AI solutions into SAF’s existing software systems to ensure they align seamlessly with operational processes
- Uphold best practices in model training, evaluation, and deployment, ensuring solutions are robust, secure, and dependable for SAF operations
- Foster a collaborative environment that values teamwork, learning, and mission focus
What You Will Bring
- Be comfortable and proficient in data science or machine learning frameworks
- Be deeply curious about the intersection of AI and defence, with a drive to understand SAF’s operational requirements and contribute to national security
- Demonstrate an entrepreneurial mindset, committed to creating DSAI solutions that enhance the SAF’s operational effectiveness
- Education in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or any other related field, with at least 2-3 years of working experience in Data Science or AI/ML Engineering
