Your team
As a Payment Investigator, you will join the Payments Investigations Team with the primary responsibility of resolving client inquiries related to payment issues. Your role is essential in ensuring the timely and accurate processing of transactions, investigating discrepancies, and working closely with internal stakeholders to uphold operational efficiency and regulatory compliance. Through your efforts, you will help safeguard client transactions and support ongoing improvements within the payments process.
Your expertise
2–5 years of experience in banking or payment operations (entry-level candidates with foundational knowledge may also be considered).
Strong knowledge of payment systems, including SWIFT, Fedwire, and CHIPS.
Familiarity with sanctions screening, wire transfers, and USD/FX payment flows.
Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Detail-oriented, with a strong focus on accuracy and client service.
For senior roles: ability to prioritize tasks, lead initiatives, and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
Experience with ACH, check operations, or Securities-Based Lending (SBL) processes.
Understanding of ISO 20022 standards.
Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to payment processing and financial crime compliance.
