Job Purpose: This role is responsible for overseeing management and analysis of plant operation data, ensuring its accurate representation in MIS reports for strategic decision-making, while also overseeing compliance, performance, and energy efficiency initiatives to enhance operational excellence and financial prudence. This role includes the supervision of data-driven resource planning, expenditure analysis, fuel management system, and the facilitation of technical audits and project management to optimize plant operations.
Section Head MIS & OE
Performance Management and Analysis:
Prepare annual generation plan and present it for approval.
Ensure record of plant operation data (KPIs such as generation losses, heat rate, oil consumption, APC, coal consumption) in regular MIS reports and present it to the management.
Identify baselines and targets based on data analysis, plan for achieving targets, and manage resource planning accordingly.
Monitor and report on Fuel Management System (FMS) for coal and oil, including inventory, consumption, and heat accounting.
Analyse unit level startup and shutdown reports and present findings to management and ensure operational KPIs are met, report deviations, and analyse their financial or operational impact.
Prepare and ensure implementation of field audits related to performance improvement as per rolling plan.
Performance and Compliance Monitoring:
Perform regular visits to the respective ports (if applicable), capture observations, and report findings to HO.
Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for equipment failure, boiler tube leakages (BTL) , and unit tripping issues, monitor Management of Change (MoC) processes and track changes.
Coordinate and provide inputs for sustainability and technical audits, ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
Oversee monthly physical verification and manage quantification and other parameters for coal procurement planning.
Ensure compliance of mandatory requirements of CEA.
Reporting and Communication:
Oversee preparation of daily operation reports, follow up with Operations for updates on commercials, coal, O&M KPIs, and performance losses.
Provide information such as Performance Achievement and Trading (PAT) to external agencies like government bodies.
Monitor and report on Adani Business Excellence Model (ABEM) systems and operational efficiency parameters.
Support station sustainability reporting to the Environment & Sustainability department as well as to the Head Office (HO).
Project and Energy Efficiency Management:
Identify gaps and generate ideas for energy efficiency projects (LAKSHYA), updating HO on progress.
Monitor CAPEX projects, track savings, assess project viability, and report to HO team.
Oversee new projects such as government projects and ensure flexible operations, including tests, trials, and audit report submissions.
Oversee gap analysis for efficiency, suitability of coal prior to procurement, and manage coal inventory handling.
Monitor compliance reporting for alternate fuel consumption to BEE or statutory bodies.
Budget Management:
Review budgetary requirements for measuring instruments, technical instruments, calibration, procurement, and performance testing.
Track and analyse Demand-Side Management (DSM) losses reports related to government guidelines and additional requirements.
Ensure financial viability and tracking of savings for CAPEX and energy efficiency projects.
Business Sustainability:
Ensure adherence to IMS, AWMS, DISHA and CHETNA guidelines within the department.
Maintain safety of personnel and equipment through proper training and adherence to safety protocols.
Coordinate and provide inputs for sustainability audits, ensuring environmental and operational compliance.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement in safety and sustainability practices.
Digitization and Automation:
Lead and execute comprehensive digitization strategies to optimize operational efficiency.
Review and implement process and system improvements, adopting newer technologies , automation solutions and innovative ideas.
Drive innovation and optimization of infrastructure design for efficient operations.
People and Team Engagement:
Participate in the recruitment process to attract and retain skilled personnel for the team.
Drive and enhance employee engagement and retention across the team by ensuring team satisfaction and professional development.
Lead, inspire, and mentor the team to foster a high-performance culture and ensure cross-skilling through job rotation, technical, and behavioural trainings.
Ensure proper succession planning in the team.

Educational Qualification:
BE/B.tech or equivalent technical field.
Work Experience (Range of years):
13+ years of experience in operational efficiency along with plant operations, data management, and analysis within the power generation or related industry.

Power generation, energy, or related sectors with a focus on operational efficiency and management information systems.
