Primary Purpose:

Conduct routine dives in the turtle pool for cleaning purposes (20 hours per week) to reduce algae growth and support habitat maintenance.

 

Job Category: Non-Exempt

Hiring Range:  $14.00

Pay Basis:  Hourly

Subject to Grant Funding? No  

Essential Job Functions: 

• Assist with maintaining water quality and appearance of the pool to ensure the health
and well-being of resident turtles at the MEEC.
• Perform scientific dives as needed, to manage and reduce algae growth in the pool.
• Support pool cleaning efforts using air tanks and basic equipment provided by the facility.
• Monitor and report on conditions affecting water quality and algae development.
• Follow all safety protocols and procedures while diving and handling equipment.

Job Requirements: 

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: 

Required Certifications/Licensures: 1. SCUBA certification.
2. Must obtain within four (4) weeks of hire an AAUS certification

Required Education: Bachelor's Degree

Major (if required: Biology or related science
