Description

Position Summary

Responsible for the maintenance of paint on structures and woodwork by applying paint, varnish, and stain. 

Essential Functions

• Applies paint, varnish, and/or stain to structures and wood work.
• Repairs drywall damage including texturing to minimize visibility of repair areas.
• Removes and mixes paint. 
• Must be able to accurately calculate the amount of product needed to complete the task assigned based off of square feet and linear feet. 
• Installs, reapplies, and repairs wall coverings.
• Cleans and appropriately prepares surfaces for coatings/wall coverings.
• Paints surfaces with appropriate coatings, color matches existing coatings when performing touch-ups.
• Applies a variety of coatings including stains, varnishes, and specialty products.
• Cleans and maintains painting tools and equipment.
• Uses a variety of surface preparation and paint equipment.
• Complies with Facilities Department and Chinook Winds Casino Resort policies and procedures.
• All other duties as assigned.

WORKERS IN THIS POSITION MUST BE 21 OR OLDER

Education

High School Diploma or GED.

Experience

5 years of verifiable experience in commercial, residential, and industrial painting. 

2 years minimum experience at a journeyman level. 

Computer Skills

Microsoft Office beginner level.

Certificates & Licenses

Valid Oregon Driver’s License preferred.

Must obtain a Siletz Tribal Gaming License.

Work Environment

Work will take place in a busy gaming environment with multiple distractions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. The environment is subject to smoke and the associated affects. May be subjected to a scented air environment. Many of the job responsibilities will be conducted in exterior and interior areas of operation. Exterior activities will be carried out in year round weather conditions.

Working Conditions

Conditions of employment include passing a pre-employment drug screen, a background investigation, and completing a 180-day introductory period.
