About the role
The Buyer will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing items within assigned categories to support company goals and maximize profitability. This role works closely with supply chain, vendors, and internal teams to develop programs, analyze performance, and ensure the right products are available at the right time.
What you’ll do
- Develop and monitor buying programs and inventory levels.
- Purchase / reorder products to maintain optimal stock levels.
- Interact with vendors, follow up on special orders, and resolve issues (e.g., breakage, partial shipments, RMA).
- Analyze item performance and make recommendations to improve profitability.
- Maintain item master, regularly review SKUs status for NPI/EOL/Obsolete actions, modify data and ensure the correctness of product hierarchy
- Provide input to the Supply Planning organization in developing inventory strategies on existing items, new products and product phase-outs.
- Contribute at a Leadership level supporting Sales and Operations Planning processes and team meetings
About you
- 3-5 years of experience managing a buying program
- Good grasp of inventory management concepts and proven background in data-driven purchasing
- Bachelor’s degree in quantitative field
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
- Ability to learn and adapt to new software platforms
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills
Location: Hybrid, NYC
Salary: $75,000 - $90,000
