Job Description

This is a unique opportunity to become the one of first pure technical hires for our US Data team in Denver, directly supporting the US Data Lead.

In this pivotal role, you’ll set the standard and culture for the US Data function, shaping a pragmatic, results-driven team where “getting things done” is not just encouraged but required.

The environment is fast, agile, and quality-focused—ideal for someone who thrives in startup or scale-up settings where delivery and automation are paramount. You will collaborate closely with global colleagues, setting an example of partnership and technical excellence across borders.

The listed salary for this position is $120,000-$150,000 annually.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a startup or agile business environment, and the ability to work with speed and a focus on delivery.
  • Experience setting technical direction, standards, and best practices for data engineering and analytics within a growing team.
  • Ability to lead technical solution decisions—including product evaluations and proof-of-concept initiatives, and influencing others to follow.
  • Strong background in educating and upskilling technical team members, as well as coaching and supporting junior colleagues.
  • Track record of enabling business stakeholders through self-service tools and fostering more data-driven and agile business teams.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills—able to work efficiently with colleagues across time zones and cultures.
  • Hands-on expertise with Google BigQuery as both a data lake and data warehouse solution.
  • Advanced SQL skills for data transformation and analysis.
  • Practical experience with Kafka for real-time data ingestion.
  • Familiarity with leading data visualization tools such as Power BI and Looker.
  • Experience leveraging AI tools and techniques—both to accelerate the building of data solutions and to provide innovative, AI-driven insights and solutions to business teams.

  • Champion technical excellence by setting, enforcing, and evolving technical standards within the US Data team.

  • Build and automate data pipelines and analytical processes, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security of data assets.
  • Enable business teams with self-service data tools, empowering them to make data-driven decisions and become more agile.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement, both within the US team and globally.
  • Coach and mentor less experienced team members, supporting their technical and professional development.
  • Act as a key advocate and implementer of AI-driven solutions, both to accelerate internal development and to deliver innovative analytics and insights for business teams.
