As a Cold Section Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the NPI (New Product Introduction) execution of the mechanical design activities for the assigned components.

In this role, you will work within the Military Design Engineering organization as a Mechanical Design Engineer for key mechanical systems components. You will regularly interface with the Italian military customer, engine development partners and Supply Chain functions (Manufacturing, Quality, and Sourcing).

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Prime engineering responsible for the components NPI execution through the Avio Aero NPI process

  • Prime engineering support to the formal components developments Reviews

  • Own the components design and development modifications to adopt key technologies and optimize the system design

  • Establish an efficient coordination of the design activities from different engineering organizations

  • Provide all required engineering support to the components prototypes definition and production to feed the development engines

  • Provide all required engineering support to the components/module engineering and certification tests definition, tests plan, tests rig design-procurement-setup, tests execution and component certification/module final certification

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Technical High School Diploma

  • Previous experience in mechanical design and baseline use of CAD tools (Unigraphix)

  • Great accountability/collaboration & interpersonal/communication skills

  • Technical Program management and execution/coordination skills

  • External technical relationship experience

  • Good execution/coordination skills

  • Italian mother tongue and fluent in written and spoken English

  • Work Visa, in accordance with local regulation, is required

Desired Characteristics

  • Previous hardware ownership experience.

  • Experience in aero-engines component or module design.

  • Previous experience in cost and value engineering.

  • Advanced Unigraphics CAD tool.
