Job Description:
Purpose
Shell Downstream South Africa is a mature market with approximately 600 operational Mobility sites. The Mobility South Africa business has plans to high-grade the network with a balanced approach of optimizing the existing portfolio of sites and growing the network using different investment models. This proposed position will play an important role in this journey.
Accountabilities
• Responsible for all investments and portfolio actions of the Company Owned/Leased and Dealer Owned Network for the Western Cape, Northern Cape, parts of the Free State and parts of the Eastern Cape Regions.
• Contribute to successful multiyear plan delivery and growth strategy as part of one team within network planning, engineering, real estate, soil and groundwater, and other third parties;
• Create detailed regional masterplan of areas as specified in the integrated master plan. This includes researching on demographics, infrastructural changes and development of market area, as part regional master plan; analysis of data of existing network in order to propose optimisation actions, and conducting initial project feasibility analysis for all projects in the detailed masterplan;
• Run discounted cash flow evaluations using DOVAMO economics tool for business case proposals and produce quality Investment Proposals;
• Ability to run detailed analysis with attention to detail in order to inform decision making for investment decisions.
• Defend the leasehold portfolio in the region, providing timeous lease renewal mandates to the Real Estate team as and when required;
• Participate in portfolio projects - lead strategic and business case component;
• Provide regular support to the regions Territory Managers and District Managers, with respect to planned developments taking place in their regions.
• Demonstrate safety leadership in the investment decisions you make, and ensure the upkeep of the highest Ethic and Compliance standards in investment dealings in the region;
• It is expected that the candidate will positively contribute to the cohesive functioning of the team, sharing their experience, knowledge and their capacity in support of their fellow Network colleagues;
• Contribute to post implementation review (PIR) analysis for the region and ensure all learning from delivered projects are fully implemented and tracked;
• Participate in the development of Innovation initiatives and business turnarounds when applicable.
Dimensions:
• Portfolio of this role covers the geographical region of the Western Cape; Northern Cape, parts of the Free State, and parts of the Eastern Cape.
• Approximately 125 sites in the portfolio
- Travel approximately 25% of time
Required experience and Qualification
• Business or Engineering or degree with town planning background (Preferable);
• Highly numerate (analytical) & comfortable with Excel & PowerPoint with a strong commercial mindset;
• Demonstrated evidence of Enterprise first values and behaviours will be taken into account during the selection process;
• Experience of the South Africa Network landscape and its dynamics is essential
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Strong interpersonal & stakeholder management skills
• Work in a multi-cultural environment
Additional Information

• Ability to quickly get to know different environments and rules that apply in the different study areas.
• Must be able to work with a variety of stakeholders including property developers, town planners, Shell business partners and affiliated Shell departments.
