SUMMARY
This individual analyzes, designs, supports, and documents computer information systems, actively participating in the design of finance-related systems solutions, managing configuration, testing, quality control, implementation, and providing ongoing support to users through training, maintenance, and troubleshooting. This individual may also perform data analysis and reporting to support the financial and administrative functions of the organization. This position requires an individual that can work well in a cross-functional team environment and is able to partner closely and confer daily with supporting teams (Infrastructure, Development, Information Security, Process Improvement, other business departments, and Risk) for successful project collaboration.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- The Financial Systems Analyst plays a critical role in optimizing financial processes, ensuring compliance, and supporting the Company’s financial decision-making by leveraging technology, artificial intelligence and data analysis. Their work helps streamline financial operations, reduce errors, and enhance the overall financial health of the organization.
- Implements, maintains, and supports software application systems utilized by Finance and Accounting teams, including integrations with internal systems and banking partners.
- Utilizes knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) to assure financial system designs and configurations meet these principles and compliance with financial regulations.
- Performs technical assessments, analysis, design, configurations, testing and documentation of new or existing systems to optimize operations, speed, efficiency, and dependability.
- Monitors customer support tickets and provides timely support and resolution as required -troubleshoots, isolates, and resolves critical issues by coordinating with IT support teams as necessary; determines root cause of incidents and makes recommendations for prevention.
- Performs ongoing administration of enterprise applications such as object configuration, field maintenance, user activation/deactivation and user provisioning. Supports the installation of maintenance/patches and software upgrades through testing and training.
- Reviews business requirements with product and technology teams to ensure understanding of project requirements; participates in design discussions and ensures required functional specifications are delivered.
- Guides, trains, and advises Process Improvement teams on technical and functional best practices for Finance and Accounting related systems.
- Designs and conducts training programs and/or work instructions; Assists with the creation of user acceptance testing plans.
- Participates in Change Advisory Board meetings where system changes are discussed and approved.
- Manages financial data, including data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
- Manages the data management/retention program, including proper destruction of data and data access permissions to assure confidentiality, integrity, and availability.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Science, Business, or related field; three to five years of ERP systems experience with a focus on Financial Applications.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of ERP systems and how financial transactions are generated and reported.
- Knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
- Emerging finance and accounting technology trends and system integration best practices
- Intermediate knowledge of systems integration through web services, ETL, etc.
- Proficient in business process analysis and graphical depiction of flow.
- Can evaluate critical systems, prioritize workflow, and determine solutions.
- Can easily adapt and learn new software systems and technology, including artificial intelligence
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Can read and understand technical documentation.
