Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Retail & Consumer Packaging Design
- Develop and execute packaging design for beauty and personal care across bottles, tubes, jars, cartons, gift sets, seasonal programs, shippers, PDQs, and pallet displays for mass retailers and club stores.
- Design packaging that balances brand storytelling, clear communication of claims and benefits, and strong visual impact across planograms, end caps, and e-commerce environments.
- Translate approved briefs and creative direction into well-considered design iterations, refining execution based on stakeholder feedback while maintaining visual integrity, accuracy, and project timelines.

3D Visualization & Structural Collaboration
- Produce high-quality 3D renders and visualizations of packaging concepts using industry-standard tools such as KeyShot (preferred), Rhino 3D, SolidWorks, or similar platforms for use in line reviews, retailer sell-in decks, and internal presentations.

- Visualize and optimize display-ready shippers, pallet skirts, trays, and club-store configurations to support cohesive, shelf- and warehouse-scale storytelling.
- Support the creation of mock-ups and physical/3D prototypes for key customer presentations, trade shows, and internal reviews.
Project Execution & Cross-Functional Collaboration

- Partner with Product Development, Brand/Marketing, Sales, and Operations to understand customer requirements, retailer expectations, cost targets, and timelines, translating them into executable design solutions.
- Participate in client and retailer calls or meetings as a packaging design contributor, clearly presenting work, incorporating feedback, and resolving design considerations in a practical, solution-oriented manner.
- Resolve complex design challenges related to print processes, materials, sustainability considerations, and cost efficiency, flagging risks early and proposing viable execution options.
- Stay current on packaging, beauty, and retail trends, competitor activity, sustainability initiatives, and printing technologies to inform execution quality and continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Post-secondary education in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Packaging Design, or a related field.
- 7–10+ years of professional graphic design experience, with a strong focus on retail consumer packaged goods (CPG) and mass-market beauty or personal care brands. Agency level experience preferred.
- Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign with a proven track record of building complex packaging files, mechanicals, and line extensions for high-volume retail.
- Hands-on experience designing packaging for big-box and club retailers (e.g., national grocery, drug, warehouse and discount chains), including display-ready shippers, pallet configurations, and multi-SKU programs.
- Advanced 3D visualization skills with industry-standard tools such as KeyShot, Rhino 3D, SolidWorks, Blender, or similar platforms, with the ability to generate photo-realistic renders and support packaging evaluation and sell-in.
- Solid understanding of packaging materials (cartonboard, labels, flexible packaging, plastics, glass), printing methods (litho, flexo, digital), and colour management (Pantone, CMYK, spot colours, proofs).
