Function: Technology Operations
Embrace is building a centralized technology operations function to support Embrace’s growing portfolio of SaaS companies. The Sr. Manager, Technology/ Engineering – India will serve as the on-ground technical counterpart to our global technology leadership team.This individual will be responsible for building, managing, and scaling the India-based technology team, ensuring high-quality delivery across multiple product lines and portfolios. The role requires someone who has hands-on coding experience, strong technical judgment, and the ability to assess, mentor, and allocate developers effectively across projects.
Team Building & Technical Leadership

Build and scale a high-performing technology team in India, covering development, QA, and DevOps roles

Partner with the VP of Technology and Portfolio Tech Leads to define the tech hiring roadmap and lead end-to-end recruitment for developers (from junior to senior).

Conduct technical interviews (for Junior to Senior Developer roles); participate in senior/lead-level interviews

Maintain a Tech Talent Matrix tracking skills, technology stack expertise, and project experience across all India-based developers.

Identify skill gaps and lead initiatives for upskilling or cross-training.
Delivery & Operations Oversight

Oversee technical delivery across projects, ensuring adherence to scope, quality, and timelines.

Act as a bridge between India-based teams and global stakeholders (Product Managers, Portfolio Presidents, etc.).

Provide technical validation and code review support for key deliverables.

Track sprint progress, resource utilization, and proactively resolve technical bottlenecks.
Governance & Best Practices

Define and enforce coding standards, version control practices, and release processes across teams.

Work closely with QA, DevOps, and Product Management teams to ensure seamless delivery and deployment.

Contribute to continuous improvement of development workflows and documentation.
People Development

Serve as a mentor and first-level escalation point for India-based developers.

Conduct regular performance and skill assessments, collaborating with HR and department leads on growth plans.

Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and technical excellence.
Requirements

Experience: 8–10 years of total experience with at least 3+ years in a team lead / technical delivery role.

Background: Strong understanding of modern web and SaaS technologies, with prior experience as a developer or architect. The role requires technical depth sufficient to evaluate solutions, guide teams, and make informed delivery decisions..

Technical Stack Exposure: Proficiency in one or more modern development stacks such as .NET, Java, JavaScript frameworks (React, Angular), or equivalent technologies.

Strong understanding of software development lifecycle, CI/CD, version control (Git), and agile delivery.

Prior experience working with distributed teams across time zones is a plus.
