Financial Management & Reporting
- Oversee preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Indian GAAP and IFRS
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes
- Ensure accurate and timely management reporting to regional and global leadership
- Coordinate statutory audits and liaise with external auditors
- Maintain robust internal controls and financial procedures
Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with Indian regulatory requirements including Companies Act, GST, Income Tax, and pharmaceutical industry regulations
- Oversee transfer pricing documentation and compliance
- Manage relationships with tax advisors and regulatory authorities
- Stay updated on changes in financial regulations affecting the pharmaceutical sector
Business Partnership
- Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making
- Partner with commercial teams on pricing strategies and profitability analysis
- Support new product launches and market expansion initiatives
- Conduct financial due diligence for potential partnerships or acquisitions
Team Leadership
- Lead and develop a team of finance professionals
- Implement best practices and drive process improvements
- Foster a culture of accuracy, integrity, and continuous improvement
- Provide coaching and mentoring to team members
Treasury & Risk Management
- Oversee cash flow management and banking relationships
- Manage foreign exchange exposure and hedging strategies
- Assess and mitigate financial risks
- Optimize working capital management
Education & Certification
- Chartered Accountant (CA) or Cost and Management Accountant (CMA) qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Finance, or related field
- MBA in Finance preferred
Experience
- 20-30 years of progressive finance experience, preferably in pharmaceutical or healthcare industry
- Minimum 10-15 years in a leadership role with team management experience
- Extensive experience with Indian regulatory environment and compliance requirements
- Background in multinational companies preferred
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of Indian GAAP, IFRS, and US GAAP
- Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar)
- Advanced Excel skills and financial modeling capabilities
- Experience with business intelligence tools and data analytics
