JOB SUMMARY The HR Investigations Specialist will play a critical role in researching and investigating allegations of time card fraud, Medicaid fraud, and general reports of concern within a large population of unionized caregivers. The primary focus will be on investigating and resolving issues related to time card fraud, ensuring compliance with company policies, union agreements, and relevant labor laws.

JOB DUTIES
  • Support high-volume HAD (Harassment, Abuse, Discrimination) and AEN (Abuse, Exploitation, Neglect) case overflow, maintaining accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to performance metrics.
  • Conduct thorough investigations into reports or suspicions of time card fraud among unionized caregivers.
  • Research and analyze time sheet data, training records, witness statements, and other documentation to identify irregularities, discrepancies, or patterns indicating potential fraud or lack of character, competency, or suitability to provide care.
  • Maintain meticulous records of investigations, documenting interviews, findings, and any evidence collected.
  • Ensure the preservation of electronic and physical evidence in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with Human Resources and Labor Relations departments to ensure investigations align with company policies, union agreements, and applicable labor laws.
  • Provide timely and accurate updates on the progress of investigations.
  • Recommend and implement appropriate corrective actions based on investigation outcomes.
  • Support HR Business Partners during administrative investigations through thorough note-taking and documentation.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, or related field.
  • Two or more years of experience in a related or similar position.
  • Proven experience in conducting employee relations investigations.
  • Familiarity of relevant labor laws, union agreements, and HR best practices.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Efficiency with Outlook, Word, Excel, and SharePoint.
  • Ability to work flexible and/or extended hours, if needed, to meet the job requirements
  • Employees must provide their own reliable internet if working a remote/hybrid position

The incumbent typically works in an office environment and uses a computer, telephone and other office equipment as needed to perform duties. The noise level in the work environment is typical of that of an office. Incumbent may encounter frequent interruptions throughout the workday. The employee is regularly required to sit, talk, or hear; frequently required to use repetitive hand motion, handle or feel, and to stand, walk, reach, bend or lift up to 20 pounds.
