Team and Job Purpose
The Finance Business Partnering team is responsible for providing quality strategic insight and effective finance partnering to key stakeholders across the Save the Children International Global Teams to drive quality financial and business outcomes.
Role purpose
The role holder will be responsible for providing strong finance business partnering and high quality management information to Global Teams in order to enable the organisation to deliver high quality outcomes for children.
This includes leading budgeting/forecasting processes for assigned departments or teams, and producing high quality financial management information and reporting to enable effective decision making.

Principal Accountabilities
- Provide strategic financial management, oversight and advisory to teams within the assigned department(s), including monthly reporting process, annual budget and reforecasts.
- Deliver meaningful financial analysis to support strategic and management decision making for SCI Leadership team and other key stakeholders.
- Provide ongoing monitoring of departemental spending and cost recovery risks across relevant funding types and develop/maintain required tools to achieve same effectively.
- Take relevant action to ensure that team /departemental cost recoveries are processed in a timeline, compliant and efficient manner.
- Strategic partnering of key stakeholders to uplift overall performance, manage financial risks and provide clear financial visibility.
- Develop and maintain financial plans for relevant investments made by the assigned departments and monitor the achievement of desired benefits.
- Work with business partners across the FP&P team to review processes and tools in place, identify opportunities for improvements and standardisation to drive efficiencies across the team.
- Business Partner with key stakeholders to support on global KPI improvements and uplift overall performance, providing guidance, advice and dealing with all finance-related queries.
- Undertake additional duties, supporting other senior Finance staff as and when required.
Experience and Skills
Essential
- Well-developed analytical and business partnering skills, including expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and presenting complex financial information clearly and compellingly.
- A thorough understanding of financial systems and procedures.
- Understanding of key operational and strategic considerations relating to Awards Finance, Cost recovery and Business Innovation.
- Builds and maintains effective relationships with team members, budget holders, and external partners to ensure coordinated financial management and reporting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and proven ability to interact with individuals at all levels and from various cultural backgrounds with credibility, tact, and diplomacy, both remotely and in person
- Proactive and logical approach to problem-solving with the ability to anticipate requirements and obstacles.
- Excellent IT literacy including advanced skills in spreadsheet modelling and analysis
- Effective in managing and coordinating multiple financial tasks and responsibilities in a timely manner
- Maintains a calm disposition and positive outlook particularly when working under pressure
Desirable
- Multi-Currency Environment: Significant experience working within a multi-currency finance environment.
- Experience working with large data sets, including with data warehouses.
- Experience working with Power Query, Power Pivot and/or Power BI.
Education and Qualifications
Essential
- ACA, CIMA, CPA, or equivalent, or relevant experience
