We are seeking an experienced IT Manager to lead, manage, and scale the company’s IT department. This role is responsible for day-to-day IT operations, team leadership, and strategic execution, while working closely with company executives to ensure technology supports the organization’s goals, growth, and operational needs.

The IT Manager serves as the owner of IT—setting direction, managing priorities, developing the team, and ensuring systems are reliable, secure, and aligned with business objectives.


IT Manager Key Responsibilities:


IT Department Leadership & Ownership

  • Lead, manage, and mentor the IT team, establishing clear roles, responsibilities, performance expectations, and career development paths.
  • Own IT operations, including service delivery, escalation management, documentation, and continuous process improvement.
  • Provide Tier 2/3 escalation support while ensuring the team is equipped and trained to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Develop and enforce IT policies, standards, and best practices across the organization.

Executive Partnership & Business Alignment

  • Partner directly with company executives and senior leadership to understand business objectives and translate them into effective technology solutions.
  • Advise leadership on technology risks, opportunities, costs, and tradeoffs to support informed decision-making.
  • Ensure IT priorities, roadmaps, and investments align with company strategy, growth initiatives, and operational needs.
  • Serve as the primary point of accountability for IT performance, reliability, and user experience.

Cloud, Identity & Endpoint Management

  • Administer Microsoft 365 as an enterprise platform, including Microsoft Entra ID, Exchange, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint.
  • Lead identity, access, and conditional access strategies using Microsoft Entra ID.
  • Manage endpoint provisioning and lifecycle using Microsoft Intune, including Intune Autopilot for device deployment and Intune MDM for device compliance, configuration, and security.
  • Oversee device management for Windows, iOS, and Android platforms.

Cloud & Hybrid Operations

  • Monitor system health, security, and availability, ensuring stable, scalable, and highly available services.
  • Ensure backup, disaster recovery, and security controls are implemented and maintained.

Infrastructure & Networking

  • Manage networking across corporate and remote locations using Meraki and Cisco hardware and software.
  • Lead the design, configuration, deployment, and maintenance of on-premise and cloud infrastructure, including servers, storage, security, networking, and telecommunications.
  • Coordinate with vendors, service providers, and ISPs to ensure service quality, uptime, and cost effectiveness.

Strategy, Planning & Continuous Improvement

  • Own and maintain the IT strategy and technology roadmap, reviewing and updating regularly with executive leadership.
  • Evaluate new and emerging technologies, recommending solutions that improve efficiency, security, scalability, and employee productivity.
  • Lead system upgrades, platform improvements, and new technology implementations with minimal business disruption.
  • Promote adoption of technology through planning, communication, and collaboration with business teams.

Communication & Collaboration

  • Act as the central liaison between IT, executives, department leaders, and end users.
  • Clearly communicate IT initiatives, timelines, risks, and outcomes to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Support change management efforts to ensure smooth adoption of new systems and processes.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Competencies

  • Proven experience managing an IT department and leading technical teams.
  • Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Deep understanding of Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra ID, Intune (Autopilot and MDM), networking, and modern security practices.
  • Ability to balance strategic planning with operational leadership.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative, service-oriented mindset.
  • Clear understanding of how technology enables and supports business goals.


Requirements

IT Manager Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science required; Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience managing an IT department.
  • Two (2) or more years of experience supporting enterprise-class technology solutions.
  • Three (3) to four (4) years of hands-on experience administering Windows Server 2016/2019/2022 and Microsoft Entra ID / Active Directory services.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft 365 services, integrations, and deployments, including Entra ID, SharePoint, Active Directory, Intune, Intune Autopilot, and Intune MDM.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Remote Desktop Services (RDS).
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server is a plus.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time while working at a computer.
  • Ability to use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, over the phone, and via video conferencing.
  • Ability to occasionally stand, walk, bend, and reach while performing job duties.
  • Ability to lift and carry IT equipment, such as laptops, monitors, or networking devices, weighing up to 25 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to access server rooms, network closets, and office environments, which may include stairs or confined spaces.
  • Vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
