Job Description: The Web UX Designer supports major updates to the UF/IFAS main website and other related sites. The designer will evaluate and recommend user experience-focused design improvements, build and redesign web pages, and ensure content and interface elements align with UF/IFAS communication strategies and goals.Responsibilities
- User Experience & Design
- Review and recommend web design solutions to improve user experience, navigation, and content clarity.
- Design and develop user interface concepts, wireframes, and visual elements that support organizational objectives.
- Maximize the use of platform tools and widgets for interactivity and effective presentation.
- Web Development & Production
- Build and update web pages using the TERMINALFOUR content management system.
- Ensure design elements are properly structured and compatible across major browsers and devices.
- User Research & Testing
- Participate in gathering user requirements and conducting user research.
- Perform usability testing and incorporate findings into design recommendations.
- Contribute to defining overall information architecture and project scope.
- Collaboration & Strategy
- Serve as a member of the design team to identify user requirements, web architecture and project scope.
- Contribute to improving the usability, consistency, and visual appeal of the organization’s online platforms.
- Technology Awareness
- Maintain knowledge of current and emerging web technologies, UX standards, and digital design trends.
Work Location & Schedule
- Flexible work arrangement: On-site, remote, or hybrid.
- Full-time position for a specific project for an engagement of approximately 3-4 months.
$25-35/hr; commensurate with education, skills and experience.
Required Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree; or an associate’s degree and two years of appropriate experience.
Preferred Qualifications:-
Web content management system experience (i.e., TERMINALFOUR).

Experience working within higher education web environments.

Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG) and responsive design best practices.

Strong portfolio demonstrating UX design, UI development, and user-centered web solutions.

UX design certification is a plus.
This is a Time-Limited position expected to last approximately 3-4 months.
