Description
The Business Development Manager, Value-Added Services is responsible for driving net new business by expanding customer adoption of the company’s value-added services. This role focuses on identifying opportunities where services, integrations, and differentiated capabilities create measurable customer value and incremental revenue. The position is customer-facing and execution-oriented, working within the strategic direction set by the organization.
Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Generate net new business opportunities centered on value-added services and solutions
- Educate customers on service offerings and their operational, financial, and strategic benefits
- Identify, qualify, and advance service-based opportunities through the sales pipeline
- Collaborate with operations, engineering, and sales teams to scope and position service solutions
- Develop customer-specific proposals that clearly articulate value, ROI, and differentiation
- Support pricing, margin, and value justification discussions related to services
- Build and maintain a healthy pipeline aligned with growth and revenue targets
- Track and report performance against scorecard metrics including leads, opportunities, and revenue impact
- Gather customer and market feedback to support continuous improvement of service offerings
- Conduct ongoing market and industry mapping to identify target segments, key customers, emerging applications, and competitive dynamics; proactively develop industry-specific leads and early design opportunities aligned with company growth and capability strategy
- Conduct regular domestic travel across the United States to engage with customers and support sales initiatives

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field preferred
- Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand engineering concepts, manufacturing processes, and design-for-application considerations; able to translate technical details into customer-facing value.
- Demonstrated ability to develop, execute, and adjust a market and opportunity development plan, including industry mapping, target account identification, and pipeline strategy.
- Customer-service–oriented mindset with a focus on responsiveness, trust-building, and long-term partnership development.
- Self-directed and proactive, showing strong personal initiative in identifying opportunities, pursuing leads, and advancing concepts without requiring constant oversight.
- Strong organizational and follow-through skills to manage multiple opportunities concurrently and drive them to defined outcomes.
- Data- and results-oriented, with experience tracking market activity, pipeline progress, and performance against defined objectives.
- Strong ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
