 JOB SUMMARY

Salary range: $34.00 - $40.00 per hour. 

Work location: Hybrid; Vancouver, WA. 

Holland is seeking an accounting professional with a strong understanding of accounting concepts and project accounting functions to join our dynamic and collaborative accounting team, at our corporate office near downtown Vancouver's vibrant waterfront. The Project Accountant II is responsible for a variety of intermediate accounting and risk compliance functions within the Construction and Development Accounting team. The Project Accountant II prepares and distributes monthly reporting and serves as accounting liaison to the Construction and Development teams in accordance with Holland Partner Group’s Core Values.

 ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Review and coordinate accurate project draw packages and internal reporting for submission to project teams and ownership entities for funding purposes.
  • Identify inconsistencies or risks in compliance or billing and escalate accordingly.
  • Review and coordinate accurate project and Joint Venture financial
  • Review construction risk compliance documents including lien waivers, affidavits, and preliminary
  • Prepare and distribute monthly construction and development accounting reports to various
  • Prepare and review capital calls and
  • Review and correct all direct cost and contract reconciliations.
  • Respond to year-end tax and audit requests as
  • Communicate daily with construction and development team personnel, subcontractors, and external vendors to field various project accounting questions.
  • Train and mentor junior team members.
  • Represent Holland Partner Group in a professional manner at all times.
  • Perform all other duties as directed and assist the overall team effort.

 JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is required. College coursework or a degree in Accounting or a related field strongly preferred.

Experience: Three (3) years’ experience in accounting required, with experience in real estate development and/or construction project accounting strongly preferred. College coursework or a degree in Accounting or a related field may be considered in lieu of some work experience.

 Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Strong understanding of accounting concepts and project accounting functions, with construction contract billing and job costing experience strongly preferred.
  • Intermediate financial reporting and reconciliation skills.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles (i.e., journal entries, debits, credits, ).
  • Ability to accurately perform basic to intermediate mathematical
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks accurately in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Competency in Microsoft Office Suite, with Yardi, Textura, or similar accounting systems strongly
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a
  • Ability to effectively work under
  • Ability to prioritize work, proactively meet deadlines, and adapt to changing workloads.

Attendance: This full-time position requires regular and punctual attendance compliant with the schedule set to meet company needs. Additional hours or overtime may be required.

 This position also requires:

  • Ability to lift or move up to twenty (20) pounds. 
  • Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations. 
  • Fluency in English both verbally and non-verbally.
